The ceremony was pronounced by Rev. A. E. Houser, pastor of the Church of God. There were 35 relatives and near friends of the bride and groom present to witness the uniting of this worth couple. The bride was dressed in white Georgette Crepe over white satin, trimmed in steel beads and carried a bouquet of roses. The decorations of white and pink gave the room a beautiful appearance. Immediately after the ceremony a most bountiful wedding dinner was served by Mrs. Shafer. The center piece was of white and pink carnations. The wedding cake was a very elaborate affair -- the ingenious work of Frank Walters, proprietor of the City Bakery. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Jackson of North Payette, and to give due eulogy of the real worth of this esteemed young lady is just a little beyond the ability of a common newspaper editor. She has lived in this community since childhood and her sweet disposition and charming ways has won for her, favor among all. The groom is one of Salem, Oregon's thrifty young ranchers. He is a stranger in this community but we have all reason to believe he is one of Salem's best young men. The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful wedding presents to keep in memory the occasion of December 12, 1920. Everything passed off lovely during the evening of pleasure, until the guests were retiring for their homes, when the bride was called to the door on the pretence of a farewell adieu but was forcibly kidnapped, loaded into an auto leaving the groom to walk the floor between naps on the couch until four o'clock in the morning when she was returned, a little weary but apparently enjoying the joke. Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt will remain here with relatives and friends until after the holidays when they will depart for their home at Salem. The best wishes of a host of friends will go with them.
