A SURPRISE THAT WAS NOT ALL A SURPRISE
 
We knew that Marion Rhoads has been wearing a "diamond" for some months and we 
never thought that she bought it herself.  More than that we had good reason 
for believing that  Mr. C. E. Morrell of Pocatello was the man in the case.  
But somehow our thoughts had not moved on with these weeks and months in which 
Marion has passed from the ranks of a Domestic Science student to that of 
a "practicer" of the art.  But so it is.  They were married last Sunday 
afternoon at the Rhoads home in the presence of a small company of neighbor 
friends.  They have to call in friends there now to make a showing.  This is, 
the home of which the papers spoke recently from which three sons had gone out 
to their country's service it stated in the article that Marion was the only 
remaining child.  That was not quite correct.  There is a boy, Harry, who 
isn't old enough to enlist yet.  but the going have crowded pretty fast.  
However we can congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Rhoads that as their children move 
out they move up.  Mr. Morrell is not extensively known in Payette, but those 
who know him count him a worthy husband for Marion and that is high praise.
 
They have gone for a trip to the coast where they will presently return to 
Pocatello, and make their home into which Payette good-wishes will follow them 
as numerous as the host of friends Marion has made in these years that she was 
growing up from childhood to splendid womanhood.

Marion I. Rhoads on 12-9-1917, Payette.  ch
