S. Thurston, when their daughter Bessie became the bride of C. W. Buckley of this city. The Rev. Mr. H. K. Wallis of the Methodist Church performed the ring ceremony under a bower of smilax and wedding bell of pink and white carnations and snapdragons. The favorite wedding song, "Because," sung by Mr. Paul Brainard preceded the "Pilgrims Chorus," to the last strains of which the bridal party entered. The bride, upon the arm of her father, was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Rachel Filer, Matron of Honor. She was gowned in white georgette crepe with silver fringed tunic and wore a veil of tulle held in place by dainty orange blossoms. She carried a magnificent bouquet of rose, cyclamen and maidenhair fern. The groom was preceded by the ring-bearer, Master Robert Thurston and escorted by the brother of the bride, Mr. Clyde Thurston. During "Congratulations" and "Best Wishes" the occasion was enlivened by the Grieg, "Wedding Day," played by Mrs. Helen Brainard, sister of the bride. A bountiful wedding dinner was then served in the perfectly decorated dining room, carrying out the color scheme of pink and white. Miss Pauline Pence and Miss Dorothy Turner assisted in the serving. Only members of the family were present, happily including Mrs. Rachel Filer, who, with her small son Jack, arrived from Astoria, Oregon, Wednesday noon. The event was in the nature of a family reunion, only Mr. Ralph Thurston and wife of Miami, Arizona, being absent from the family circle. After much chatting between selections from the Victrola, the happy couple went by auto to Boise, where they will reside temporarily.
