A very sad accident occured at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Lyman Mecham, in the northern part of the city, last Friday morning which resulted in the death of their thirteen month old son, Chestr, by drowning. The family was about their usual morning work, Mr. Mecham at the barn, and Mrs. mecham preparing the morning meal. The little boy had been dressed and went out in the yard and it is supposed that he attempted to join his father at the barn, and in crossing the bridge which leads to the barn fell in. The child was not missed until Mr. Mecham returned to the house, when search was commenced and the remains were found about twenty feet from the bridge, lodged against a headgate. Everything was done to try and bring the child to life. The remains were taken to Morgan, Utah, Saturday morning for burial, accompanied by the bereaved father and mother.
