BUTLER / Eden Farmer Dies After Brief Illness at Twin Falls Hospital / Death removed John L. Butler, 63, Eden farmer, yesterday at the hospital here following a brief illness. He was being treated for an infection in the hand and had undergone an operation to check the spread of the infection. He was born June 5, 1874, at Panguitch, Utah, and had lived in Idaho for the past 33 years. He married Bertha M. Thurber on Nov. 15, 1899 at Manti, Utah, in the L. D. S. temple. Services will be held Saturday at noon at the L.D. S. tabernacle here. Bishop E. W. Little, Eden will officiate and the body will be taken to Shelley for burial. The body rests at the Payne mortuary at Burley. He is survived by Mrs. Butler and nine of 11 sons and daughters: Grant Butler of Shelley; Mrs. Gladys Larsen of Lyman, Wyo.; Mrs. Edith Whitehead of Boise; Donald T. Butler of Salt Lake City; Glen L. Butler of Eden; Mrs. Etta Sulliivan of Salt Lake City; Ross E. Butler, Agnes and John L. Butler, all of Eden; seven sisters; Mrs. John Christensen of Richfield, Utah; Mrs. G. M. Richards of Salt Lake City; Mrs. C. B. Thurber of Boise; Mrs. Jessie Smith of Rupert; Mrs Jane Nielson of Wendell; and Mrs Eva Dixon of Rupert; and three brothers, H. C. Butler of Acequia; K. T. of chinook, Mont; and L. T. Butler of Boise. Additional Comments: This is my grandfather. His son, Ross Erin Butler (1916-2004) is my father.
