Youth Killed

Globe, Ariz. – A Twin Falls youth was killed Friday evening in a one-car
accident east of this Arizona community.

John Richard Nielsen, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after the car in
which he was a passenger left U.S. Highway 60 about 13 miles east of Globe and
plunged down and embankment, throwing Nielsen out and breaking his neck. 

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the Twin Galls youth was a
passenger in a car driven by Donald B. Ninneman, 20, Phoenix, which was
eastbound on US 60 when Ninneman apparently either fell asleep or passed out. 
The vehicle veered into a right guardrail, Arizona officers said, and then
flipped and slid across the west bound Jane to the shoulder, where it tipped
back on its wheels and plunged down an embankment, throwing Nielson out.

Ninneman was later cited for drunken driving.  He suffered only minor injuries
and was treated and released form Gilla County Hospital.

Funeral Services

Twin Falls – Funeral services for John Richard Nielson, Jr., 19, Twin Falls, who
died Friday in an Arizona auto accident will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at
the Fifth Ward LDS Chapel on Maurice Street, with Elder James Lee officiating. 
Burial will be in Twin Falls Cemetery.  Friends may call at White Mortuary this
evening and until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
