SMITH RITES WILL BE HELD TODAY-
 Funeral services for Edmund R. Smith, retired Filer rancher, who jumped to 
his death from the third story of the L.D.S. hospital in Salt lake City at 
8:15 Sunday night, will be held at the local Nazarene church today (Thurs.) at 
2:30 p.m., with Rev. James Barr officiating.
 Mr. Smith, 71 years old, had been confined to the hospital since Dec. 7. He 
had been ill for some 12 years. Burial will be in the Filer cemetery, with the 
Drakes and Reynolds funeral home in charge.
 Mr. Smith had been a resident of the Filer community since 1905. His wife 
preceded him in death.
 Surviving are George Smith, American Lake, Wash.; Mrs. Goldie Neinman, Los 
Angeles; Mrs. Florence Atkinson, Deer Park, Wash.; Harold Smith, Portland, 
Ore.; and Debbie and Edmund R. Smith, both of Filer-all sons and daughters.
