  While the intimate friends of Miss McCollum and Joel W.Craven have known of 
their approaching marriage for some time,the public announcement was made last 
week.The wedding,will take place on January sixth and invitations for the same 
have been issued.The Bride elect is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
R.M.McCollum of this city,and has been a resident of this tract since the 
earliest days and has a large circle of friends who wish her joy in the 
approaching nuptials.When the pioneers were without homes and wives,Mr.and 
Mrs.McCollum held open house for the whole crowd and those pioneers have a warm 
spot in their hearts for the McCollum household. Mr.Craven has also been in 
this community from the start and has made many friends by his genial and 
kindly disposition.At present Mr.Craven is a member of the city council and has 
been instrumental in gaining many improvments for the city.The friends of the 
pair number a host and the wedding will prove of great interest to the entire 
city.
