Hall of the P. & I. N. Arrives from the East Weiser, Sept. 9 -- Lewis A. Hall, president of the P. & I. N. railroad accompanied by his wife arrived in Weiser yesterday afternoon from Chicago. Mr. Hall is here to push the work of extension on the P. & I. N. to Council. Harvey Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Harris, was surprised by a number of young friends Saturday on the occasion of his eighteenth birthday at his home on East Commercial street. He received a number of useful and beautiful presents. Those present were the following: Misses Maud Stevenson, Edna Stevenson, Lulu Riggs, Anna Hopkins, Lena Prichett, Etta Lansdon, Rossie White, Mabel Cope, Annie Lansdon, Annice McGrew, Alma Hand, Emma Harper, Esther Harns, Masters: Ben Cope, Chester Sater, Frank Call, Wess Barton, Raynor Coakley, Will Somercamp, Grover Garr, Rollin Smith, Roy Patterson, Russell Bothwell, Sidney Pritchett, W. P. Garr, Ed Fiber, Laurence Harris and Harvey Harris; Mrs. Willian Riggs and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Harris. The evening was pleasantly spent by the young folks in playing games, music, etc. M. S. Parker, city editor of the Signal and wife arrived Sunday morning from Portland, where they have been on their wedding tour. A special train was run on the P. & I. N. today to convey graders and grading tolls to Cambridge to work on the extension. Will Anderson returned Saturday afternoon from a two weeks trip to Placerville and other Boise Basin points. The Weiser citizens who visited Portland carnival week returned this afternoon.
