The franchise is a very satisfactory one, in which the interests of the city and the public are fully protected, the superior authority vesting in the municipality at all times. The franchise is not exclusive. Work is to be commenced within 30 days. The improvements of Weiser's streets, which was suspended on the approach of the past winter, will be resumed tomorrow by order of the board. Some further work will also be done on the partially installed sewer system. The field is now practically cleared for concentration of energies on the remaining public enterprise to be inaugurated -- a system of city waterworks. The town of Cambridge, at the end of the P. & I. N. is still forging ahead and scarcely a day passes without seeing some new building commenced. W. H. Cole and Marion Page, who own the "Regulator" claim in the Health district, are in Weiser arranging to ship two tons of test ore to Salt Lake. Although they are down only 10 feet the vein is found to be 8 feet wide and numerous assays give a value of $30 per ton in gold and 23 per cent in copper. The sample shipment will no doubt demonstrate they have a young bonanza.
