FRANK ADAMS One More Old Settler Passed to the Mysterious Beyond Mrs. Mary Champion Adams died on January 14 of pneumonia. She was taken ill some time before, but was almost recovered when she took a relapse and died shortly afterward. The funeral was held Sunday in the Baptist church at Salubria and she was laid to rest beside her husband in the Salubria cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Adams were among the very first settlers in this valley and had accumulated a reasonable amount of the world's goods. After the death of her husband about 15 years ago, Mrs. Adams continued to live on the old place and keep house for her sons. She numbered her friends by her acquaintances. She was aged 78 years, 8 months and 2 days. She leaves two sons and one daughter living, and one son and one daughter dead. The living children are: Francis and Johnny and Mrs. Mary Baker; Mrs. Doug Weston and Andrew Adams, her oldest son having preceded her in death. The News extends sympathy to the bereaved children. She was a good, kind mother, hospitable to friends and strangers alike and will be missed by all those who were near to her.
