In 1859 he removed to Missouri, and in 1882 he first came to Idaho. A strange fatality prevailed in his family so that he buried all his boys except one. Attributing it to Idaho climate he in 1887 went to Nebraska to save that boy but the attempt was fatal. The boy died. Last August Mr. Basinger returned to Idaho to be near his daughters and grand children. His last sickness was only of a week's duration. Taken first with the grip, he seemed to get better and on Wednesday walked out to his stable. Pneumonia then set in violently, and on Saturday p. m. at about 4 o'clock he passed away. He was counted as a man of upright character and integrity. The bereaved friends have the sympathy of the community. Note: Salubria Cemetery.
