Denney died at his home in Cambridge, Wednesday morning, May 10. Samuel R. Denney was born Jan. 13, 1850 in Galapois, Ohio and at the age of twenty-five years crossed the plains and settled in the Salubria Valley in September in 1875. In 1880 he married Mary E. Colson who survives him. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Denney, eight of whom survive him. They are: Mary M. Dryden, Meadows, Idaho, S. J. Denney, Goodrich, Ida., O. M. Denney, Tamarack, Ida., Anna B. Preston, Midvale, Idaho, G. N. Denney, Lucile, Ida., and A. J. Denney, C. A. Denney, and Eva L. Rippen of Cambridge. He also leaves twenty-two grandchildren. Mr. Denney was a good husband, a kind father, an upright citizen and held the distinction of conducting the first general store in the old town of Salubria. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church on May 11, Rev. Hansen officiating and burial was in the Salubria cemetery.
