Dedicated to the memory of Grandma Hoffstatter,
 
Gone is a kind friend,
So loving and dear;
Gone is a neighbor 
Whose heart was sincere.
 
Gone is our grandma
To a land of delight; 
Gone is dear mother
Where there is no night.
 
Gone is my sweet wife,
She was loving and true.
Gone, life's companion --
For a short time, adieu.
 
Yes, soon you will meet me,
Neighbors and friends,
For time is fast flying,
Life here will soon end.
 
My children, I loved you,
But God said come near.
In heaven I'll greet you,
Where there are no tears.
 
Together, my husband,
We journeyed for years,
You, too, soon will meet me,
Trust in God and have no fears.
 
There we all together
In heaven may dwell.
Friends, neighbors and kindred.
We ne'er say farewell.
