Mrs. Holt was subject to fainting spells and as she was alone when the terrible accident occurred, it is supposed that was the way it happened. When she recovered consciousness she ran into the yard screaming with pain and all her clothes burned off her. She lived several hours after her accident, suffering intense agony. Only her great vitality kept her alive the eight hours that elapsed after the accident, as she was horribly burned.
