J. Hopkins, who with her husband was one of Washington county's early settlers, ended life's journey and passed away last Friday afternoon at her home on East Main street. She had reached the age of 72 and as she had been failing for some time, although her death was sudden, yet it was not entirely unexpected by her relatives who felt her days were numbered. The funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Thomas Phillip Graham in charge of the services. Burial took place in the Weiser cemetery. In their younger years both Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins took a leading part in community affairs and at one time Mr. Hopkins was the Weiser Postmaster. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by six children and a host of friends who had grown to love her because of her unselfish character.
