Kennedy, whose illness was mentioned in last week's issue, died at his home on Crane creek last Sunday, August 21, from the effects of blood poisoning caused by a cut on his left knee, and on Monday his remains were interred in the Salubria cemetery. Mr. Kennedy was born in LaSalle, Ill., Sept. 13, 1853. He moved to Oregon about 20 years ago and about 12 years ago he settled in Idaho, where he has since lived. He was married to Miss Martha Shirts at her home on Crane creek, May 21, 1891, near where they have since lived a happy life together until death called him away. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn the loss of a kind, affectionate husband and father. The effects of the sad blow upon the family can only be realized by those who have had similar experiences. In the death of Mr. Kennedy the community has lost a good citizen, one who always attended to his own business and treated his neighbor as he would expect to be treated. During his stay in Idaho Mr. Kennedy has accumulated considerable property owning a large amount of sheep and land, which is left to his family. But that does not fill the vacant chair around the fireside nor bring back the loving countenance and voice of the husband and father, which the cruel hand of death has wrested from them. The bereaved family has the sympathies of the entire community in their hour of sorrow.
