Child Dies of Injuries
 
Weiser, Dec. 21 - Little Valtrice Lane who was hurt at the Weiser smelter last 
week, died from the effects of her injuries Friday and was buried in the 
Weiser cemetery Sunday.  The child was playing about the smelter when she 
attempted to climb on top of a shaft when it turned over on her causing 
internal injuries which resulted in a hemorrhage.  A physician from Weiser was 
summoned and made an examination but pronounced the injury slight.  Suddenly 
Friday the hemorrhage occurred resulting in death.  Valtrice was the 6-year-
old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lane who live on a ranch some 10 miles 
east of this city.
