Mickey. For a few years past he had been assailed by that dreaded disease, rheumatism, and not being able to resist its course he finally was forced to the boarder land, where he has been living for the past year or two. During this time he encountered several sinking attacks, but always rallied. On the fatal morning the family has arisen, prepared and eaten breakfast, and on preceding to arouse the father, they found that the spirit had taken its flight, leaving the corpse with a look of peaceful sleep. Mr. Mickey was born in Selby, Ohio, May 23, 1840. When but a boy his father moved to Biggsville, Ill., where the deceased lived until the age of 19, when he came to Virginia City, Nev., and was also at Idaho City, Idaho in 1864. After spending some time on the coast he settled on a farm in Salubria valley, 30 years ago, and two years later married Miss Mary Logan. To them were born nine children, seven sons and two daughters -- one of the latter being dead. Perry, one of the sons, was absent, not being able to reach him by telegraph. Mr. Mickey was the youngest child in a family of 14 children, of which only two are now living. Services were conducted at the home Sunday morning by Rev. Geo. P. Pemberton in the presence of a large gathering, which indicated the esteem and respect they had for their departed friend. G.P.P.
