JAS. H. RHEA PASSES TO THE BEYOND Crosses the Great Divide Both Well Known The entire community was shocked Monday by the passing of Mrs. J. H. Rhea, a well known and highly respected resident of the valley. Mrs. Rhea, although not a strong woman, had been in unusually good health this winter. Monday morning she had a paralytic stroke, and at about 4 p.m., she passed away. Mrs. Rhea was 61 years, 11 months, 20 days old when the death angel called her. She was born in Indiana but when quite young removed to Missouri. In 1881, she crossed the plains from that state to Oregon. In 1883 she came to Idaho, locating first at Salubria, from which place she and her husband removed to Middle Valley about 15 years ago. She leaves a husband and daughter, three sisters and four brothers to mourn her loss. Her sisters all live outside of Idaho. Mrs. Rachael Rushton lives at Weatherford, Oklahoma, Mrs. Fanny Keyes, at Watsonville, California, Mrs. Geneva Reese, Whittier, California and a brother who resides in Missouri. William, Ed and Carl Fletcher of Midvale, are half brothers. Mrs. Rhea was the mother of two children, one of whom, was a son, who died several years ago. Mrs. Rhea became a Christian when quite young. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the late home of the deceased. Elder Richard Williams, of London, Oregon, conducted the services. A large number of friends of the deceased during her life, followed the remains to their last resting place on the hill overlooking the town. Note: According to the Idaho Death Index, Mahala R.
