L. L. Shearer, a former Baptist minister, committed suicide here this morning by shooting himself in the head. Despondency was the cause. He had been sick for a long time. Mrs. Shearer was out milking when she heard the shot. She rushed in and found her husband dead in bed. The deceased was well known in this section, in Boise and in the Boise Basin country. Mr. Shearer had been suffering with consumption for a long time, and was confined to his bed during the last six months. Mr. Shearer was a minister in the Baptist church until his health failed some years ago, since which time he has been on a ranch near this place. He left a note in which he stated that he would commit the deed because of the great suffering he was afflicted with. The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Baptist church. A wife and several children survive him. Note: Leighton L.
