S. Starr The subject of this sketch was born in New Jersey, Sept. 27, 1823; hence he was 72 years, 3 months and 7 days old. Mr. Starr moved west, and finally settled in Iowa when he married Susannah Harris, and settled in Boone Co, Iowa, on a farm. From Iowa he migrated to Idaho, in the year of 1874, and settled on the Little Weiser, a beautiful clear stream, whose bubbling waters assured health and vigor to one who long had been a sufferer. When Mr. Starr came to Idaho his most hopeful friends did not think or hope that his life would be spared or prolonged more than a few years. But his will was superior to death itself and he lived to improve a splendid farm, building a very comfortable dwelling and a large barn. When he landed in Idaho he had but a small sum of money and a pony team and wagon, his wife and one child, himself and wife enjoying anything but good health. He leaves a comfortable home for his family and plenty of this world's goods to live on. Mr. Starr was a man of strong will, and of good habits, scrupulously honest in all of his dealings, and a good citizen and neighbor. His many friends will miss him, and his relatives deeply mourn their loss. He has suffered for many months. Death came so slow, that he breathed life away.
