He was the camp tender for Hiram Ballantine, the Marsh, Idaho, sheep man. He had been complaining to his camp companions that he was not feeling well for three days, and only a short time before he died he had put on his clothes and left the tent. On returning he went to bed. On failing to receive any answer to their questions, his friends went to his bedside and found him dead. He leaves one daughter. His wife died 20 years ago.
