LaVerna Weitzel
HERMISTON, Ore.-Services for LaVerna Weitzel, 55, of Hermiston, who died March 
19, 1986, at the University of Oregon Health Science Center in Portland, Ore., 
were held March 22, in Hermiston.

She was born in Weiser, Nov. 17, 1930, daughter of Henry and Maude Attebery.  
She grew up, in and around Weiser and attended Weiser schools.  She was married 
to Douglas Weitzel in Weiser on May 7, 1947, on May 7, 1947.  The couple moved 
to Hermiston in 1951 where they have since resided.  

Survivors include her husband, Douglas and two sons, Skip and Dan, all of 
Hermiston; a daughter, Kathy Butts, Portland, Ore.; a brother, Earl Attebery of 
Payette; a sister, Freida Strong, Weiser; four grandchildren, five nieces and 
three nephews.  

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
