Wilson Aug 16, 1934-July 2, 2000 Phillip J. Wilson, 65, Weiser, passed away July 2, 2000, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser, with Rev. James E. Deal of the Church of the Redeemer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser. Phil was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Parma, Idaho. He was raised in Nyssa, Ore., graduating from Nyssa High School in 1952 and Oregon Tech in 1954. He spent two summers working for the U. S. Forest Services manning a lookout-a job he truly loved. He served in the U. S. Army, Korean War, 1955 and 1956. He returned to manage his family grocery store, Wilson's Market, in Weiser. He met and married Sandra L. Hemenway in 1958 in Weiser, and together they had two children, Kenet and Jamie. In 1972, he began his career as a Real Estate Broker, his wife, Sandy, joining him in 1981. Together they own the Century 21 office in Weiser. Phil was passionate about his family. With them, he backpacked, hunted and fished, scuba dove, traveled, and on his 60th birthday went parachuting. He taught them how to live. He was a licensed pilot, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 23, Elks Lodge No. 1683, El Korah Temple and the Snake River Sportsmen club. Phil is survived by his wife, Sandy, his daughter, Kenet, and son-in-law, Fred Haun of Weiser; and his son Phillip, Jr. (Jamie) and daughter-in-law, Karen Wilson of Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren, Brent and Laura Haun of Weiser, and Ana Wilson of Spokane; his sister, June, and brother-in-law, Dwight Wyckoff, of Wallowa, Ore.; his brother Dick, and sister-in-law, Billie Wilson, of Boise, Idaho, and his sister-in-law, Audrey Wilson, of Nyssa, Ore. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Barney and Edith Richey Wilson, and his brother, Houston Wilson, all of Nyssa. The family requests donations be made in his memory to Boy Scout Troop 350 for creation of Camperships, in care of Zions Bank, 606 State St., Weiser, ID 83672 or to Snake River Sportsmen Inc. in care of Dave Brown, P. O. Box 1028, Ontario, OR 97914 He has happiness which time cannot end, Heart enough for the whole world, And faith in every tomorrow, He has guided us, helped us, and given us, Strength to grow without placing Limits on our lives, He has made us laugh and cry, But most of all.....
