For service in the War of 1812

Additional Comments:
The Adams County histories all record Justus I Perigo as the first white settler
in Adams County. One records a story that he also brought the first white wife,
having courted her with his claim of owning 160 acres with 1,000 blooming,
productive apple trees. True, except they were all wild crabapple trees! Poor wife!
