Balthaser Mecker (Meckes) died at his home 1605 Elm Street of Bright's disease.
He was born in Gilmer Township, Oct. 5, 1849. He had resided in this city for
the past 18 years.  He leaves a widow, three sons and six daughters.

Additional Comments:
My great-grandfather Balthaser was the first of his family to be born in the 
United States. His father Jocob and Mother Catherina (Whilhelm) emigrated to 
Adamas County approximately 1847-1848.
