DEMAREE DIED THIS MORNING Was Active in W.C.T.U. and Sunday School Work-Funeral Saturday. Mrs. Rebecca Demaree, wife of J.H. Demaree, died at the family residence in Moss Addition at six o'clock this morning after an illness of about four week's duration of a complication of deceases. During the past week, Mrs. Demaree had been very low and her death while not un-looked for, cam as a shock to her wide circle of friends. Mrs. Demaree was the District Superintendent of the Department of Scientific Temperance Instruction. Anti Narcotics and Enforcement of Law, and in this capacity contributed from time to time, a number of interesting articles for the Advocate. She was also a teacher of one of the most interesting classes in the Presbyterian Sunday School, a class of 13 boys about 12 years of age. Gifted in the use of the crayon she held their attention, instructing them both by word and picture. They all loved her dearly. In these circles as well as in the home she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Demaree's maiden name was Rebecca Johnson. She was a daughter of Benjamin Johnson and Annie Ault and was born at Cashtown, Franklin county Pennsylvania, December 21, 1850. At the time of her death, therefore she was in her forty-third year. At Carlyle, Pennsylvania, October 30, 1800, she was married to Mr. Demaree and together they came to this city about nine years ago. The bereaved husband and two sons, Ludwell and June survive, together with her father, one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Demaree's mother died March 7th. Mrs. Demaree united with the King Street United Brethren Church at Chamberburg, PA, in 1880 from which church she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian Church in Greenville last May. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian Church, Saturday at 2:30 pm, Rev. W.B. Minton, the pastor officiating. Additional Comments: I do not have the hole article. Would love to know if the article shows where she is buried. I have made a profile on findagrave.com. But do not know the cemetery. Please if you can let me know what I missed on the obit and where she is buried. My link is to Johnson family of Chambersburg, Franklin Pennsylvania. Thank you very much.
