Mrs. Bruff's maiden name was Rosetta Gum, a daughter of Steve and Elvira (Ray) Gum. she was born in Old Ripley township Feb 17, 1855. She was married to Mr. Bruff many years ago and they lived in and around Greenville and Old Ripley until five years ago, when they moved to Alton. Mrs. Bruff is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Anderson of Wood River and Miss Alta Bruff of St. Louis, by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as her husband. ON son, John Hay, by a former marriage died a number of years ago. Her twin sister, Mrs Jenetta Harnett died in May 1922. Her remains were brought to Greenville for burial at Montrose Cemetery.
