W. Gum of Keyesport and Mrs. C.B. Apple of Tamalco, died at his home, Feb. 24. 1921. Mr. Dill Was born September 14, 1837 at Kent county, Delaware, a son of William and Caroline Dill and was the eldgest of eight children. When a young lad his father died and the burden of them family was placed upon his shoulders. He came to Clinton County about 44 years ago and purchased a farm ajoining the village of Keyesport, where he lieved until about five years ago, when he moved to his residence in Keyesport. Mr. Dill was twice married, his first wife being Miss Jane Cohee, whom he married 1860. She departed this life in 1872. His second marriage was to Rebecca M. Byer on August 27, 1874, who with four daughters, Mrs. J.B. Ewing of Greenville, Texas, Mrs. D.F. Apple and Mrs. W. Gum of Keyesport and Mrs. C.B. Apple of Tamalco and two sons, Ambrose Dill, Jr., and John L. of Fresno, California. He is also survivied by two brothers, William W. Dill and Tillman Dill and one sister, Mrs. Sallie Taylor of Maryland. Burial was at McKendree Chapel Cemetery.
