She was born near Donnellson, in Montgomery County, on Oct 27, 1855, a daughter of the late Rev. William J. and Dorcus (Hinton) Young. She was married on Oct. 31, 1873, to John W. Edwards who died on July 4, 1919. Their children: Mrs. Maude Hess and Mrs. Gladys Edwards of Peoria; Oscar A. Edwards, a mecrchant at Coffeen. Other survivors include: grandchidren, Annetta and Cornelia, daughters of Oliver, J.W. Edwards, Jr., son of Rosco Edwards; and Paul Edwards, son of Hewey Edwards; a sister, Mrs. Laura T. Wilson of Nebraska; an a niece, Mrs R. C. Clark of Greenville. She was preceded in death by: daughters, Carrie, age 26, who died in 1904; and Alta, age 9, who died in 1901; a brother, robert W. Young who died in Tennessee; and a sister, Mrs. James E. (Normanda D.)
