Greenville Adovcate
James Tobias File died October 7, 1938 north of Smithboro. He was born Feb. 9, 
1874 near Millersburg, son of Jacob D. and Jane (Speaker) File.
He was married to Emma Neumann on March 15, 1899, who died October 5, 1901. Two 
sons were born to this union, Arnold File of South of Mulberry Grove and Wallace 
file of west of Mulberry Grove.
He married Clara Neudecker, who survives with children, Mrs.David Adcock of 
nearly Durley, Mrs. Myrtle Coling  and Mrs. Lloyd Maples of Greenville, Mrs. Leo 
Sapp of Herman, Illinois, Elmer File of Wood River, Mrs Clyde Reddick of 
Greenville and Walter, James and Dallas File at home, sisters Mrs. Sarah Seiver 
and Mrs. A. O. Young of Greenville, Mrs. Rudy Beck of Rockford and Miss Martha 
C. File of Millersburg and brothers, William T. File of St. Jacob and Frederick 
File of near Tamalco, nine granddaughters and 12 grandsons.  A son died in 
infancy.  A brother and sister have also preceded him in death.
