Gordon, died at his home in Pocahontas, Jnuary 13, 1929. Dr. Gordon was the oldest practicing physician in Bond County, having begun the practice of medicine in Millersburg in 1877. Dr. Gordon was born in Huntsville, Alabama, Oct 24, 1842, Son of Dr. James Gordon and Mary (Sanderson) Gordon. On December 12, 1861 he was married to Emily Torrence and to them were born 14 children, all fo them who have preceded thier father in death except two, Mrs. Willim T. Harlan and Dr. Louis J. Gordon of this city. Mrs. gordon died Jan 2, 1907. In September he 1907 He was married a second time, his wife being Mary A. Britt and she with one daughter, Mary Emily gordon survives. During the Civil War he was conscriped by the Southren Forces and force into the Confederate Army, although his sympathies were with the north. He was later discharged on account of physical disability and he came north immediately.
