Joy passed away at his home March 3, 1916. Frank Pierce Joy was born September 2, 1847 in Plainsfield, Massachusetts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Joy. In 1868 his father moved the family to Greenville and Conducted the old hotel on the northwest corner of the Square, which was later known as the Franklin House. Mr. Joy and his wife returned to their native land after several years. The younger Mr. Joy rmained to fight bthe battles of life in the western town of Greenville. Mr. Joy married Louis A. Mainard at South Deerfield, Massachusetts, September 8, 1875. Surviving Mr. Joy are his wife, sons, Walter A. Joy, Alfred H. Joy, Mrs. B.C. J. Wheatlake of Denver Colorado andMrs. A. V. L. Johnson of Niles, Michigan and an Adopted son, John, who lives at home. He is also survived by on borther Dr. J.A. Joy of Atlantic City, New Jersey and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Goodrich of Springfield, Massachusetts and Miss Stella R. Joy of East Hampton, Massachusetts. Interment was a Montrose Cemetery.
