Lindley, 86, well known resident of Pocahontas, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital at Highland, June 18, 1950. Mr. Lindley was a son of Jacob and Nancy (File) Lindley and was born March 10, 1864 in Clinton county, In October 1883 he moved to Pocahontas where he spent the remaining days with the exception of a few months spent at the Baker Nursing Home in Greenville. Ond September 30, 1897 he was married to Katherine Spilkey, daughter of John and Jane (Carey) Spilkey of Pocahontas and she passed away May 3, 1950. Mr. Lindley was the last of a family of 13 children, seven of whom reached maturity. They were T. A. Lindley, J.C. Lindley, Mrs. Rebecca Gillespie and Mrs. Sarah Zbinden of Pocahontas and Mrs. Anna Evans of Sorento and Mrs. Della Ellington of Greenville.
