He was brought to Bond County, Illinois, when fifteen years old and remained her a few years, after which he went to Morgan County, near Jacsonville and married when quite young, Isabel Smart. they raised a large family of children, setting off when grown, here and there as children do; his wife nearly a year before he did. Mr. Long, in the earlier years of married life lived in Madison County and while a while in Bond, but more than forty years since removed to Hancock County, Illinois. He first owned a good farm in Hancock County, but 35 or 40 years ago sold out and settled in Iowa, before the war commenced, he removed to Putnam County, Missouri.
