Rea died at the Highland hospital from a gunshot wound inflicted by husband Dunward O. Rea, May 23, 1923. Her Husband died, a victim of his own hand, after shooting her. Mrs. Rea's maidenname was Mary Etta Clark and she was born in Fillmore, Indiana September 30, 1879, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Clark of near Old Ripley. On August 30, 1896 was married to Durward O. Rea. To them were born six children, three of whom, Mrs. Olive Spongie, Violet and George preceded their parents death. the surviving children are Clarence Rea of this city andBeulah and Elmer Rea who lived at home. She is survived by one brother, William Clark of near Old Ripley and three sisters, Mrs. Zella Redding of near Old Ripley, Mrs. Pearl swafford of Pittsburg, Illinois and Mrs. Annie Kimbro of southwes Greenville.
