She is the daughter of Peter and Eva Margaret Reihnhardt and was born May 12, 1849 in St. Louis. In 1866 she was united in marriage to Charles Spies in Shoal Creek Township. To this union were born seventeen children, five whom preceded her in death. They were Philipbena, Charles, Edward, Rose and Elizabeth. She is survived by her husband and twelve children, Mrs. Maragret Baltz of St. Louis, Geroge of Los Angles, California, Mrs. Christine Dressor, Philip, Mrs. Kate Wylder and Mrs. Emma Oswald of Reno, Henry and John of Greenville, Peter of Stutgart, Arkansas, Mrs. Mea Bouillon of Pocahontas and Nick Spies of Wood River.
