Watson, formerly of Greenville, died at his home in Belvidere, February, 1, 1915. Charles William Watson was born at Nashus, New Hampshire, Nover 20, 1847, a son of Elijah and Eliza Palmer Watson. When a boy he went with his parents to Belvidere. When the Civil War broke out he enlisted as a member of the 35th Wisconson Infantry. He married Miss Julia Bennett on November 25, 1879, the ceremony being prefomed by his brother Rev. Dr. J. P. Watson of Dayton Ohio, father Frank Watson of this city. Mrs. Watson was the only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edo Bennett. Mrs Watson died at the family home in this city February 5, 1902. He bought the south side drug store from David Holcomb in 1881. In August 1902 he sold a third interest to his nephew, Frank E. Watson who, upon Mr. Watson's failure in health, later on bought the entire business. Mr. Watson then went to Cironelle, Alabama for his health and while there met Matabelle Vidmer, whom he married in March 1903. Later they went to Kansas City, Missouri, where he bought a drug store and ran it for several years. He sould out and moved to Belvidere several years ago. He is survived by his wife, two children, Vidmer, aged ten and Eliza Plamer, aged seven. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Evaline Ames of Belvidere and Mrs Emeline Clark of Chicago. One brother Rev. Dr. Watson died at Dayton, Ohio, May 20, 1908 and two other brothers passed away. John and Elijah. Mr. Watson was the youngest of the family. The two sister are twins.
