Alex Ray, Bond County IL Name of Deceased: RAY, W. Alex Name of Newspaper: unknown Date of Obituary: unknown Date of Death: 7 Sep 1941 Funeral services for W. Alex Ray, formerly of Mulberry Grove, who died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Palmer at Evansville, Ind., as noted in the Advocate Monday, were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mulberry Grove Methodist church, the Rev. J.L. Miller officiating. Interment was made at the Mulberry Grove cemetery. The body was brought to the Runells Funeral Home at Mulberry Grove Sunday night. Mr. Ray was born in Lawrence county, Illinois, August 22, 1859 and was aged 82 years and 16 days. He was married to Mrs. Lydia Taylor Elam, at Vandalia August 31, 1886 and 38 years ago they moved to Bond county and had lived in the vicinity of Mulberry Grove until the death of his wife when he went to live with his daughter. He is survived by the daughter mentioned, one stepson, Walter Elam of Mulberry Grove, one brother, William Ray of Warm Springs, Ark., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
