All were located in Buckhorn township and most in and near the good-producing well on the William L. Davis farm in section eight. The well on the Davis farm continues to produce at a satisfactory rate and the oil trucks, hauling it to the pipe line near Kincaid are making their daily trips. Amoung wells completed in the past several days was one located on the Davis farm, just south of the producing well. Others which were drilled to the required depth but which showed no oil prospects included one on the Fred Masterson farm, on the McNeff farm, on the Kenneth Lee farm, Casper Wagner farm and across the creek south on the Davis farm. An unofficial count reveals about nine wells drilled and completed with negative results. The well on the Robinson farm, west of the Davis well, and leased by Richard L. Moore has not shown any better prospects than was reported last week. Pumping is done periodically, and oil is produced, but no continual flow has resulted. Mr. Moore stated this week that steps may be taken to swab out the well and consideration is also being given to acidization. Other wells have been started in the area and completion of some is expected daily. Well drilling rigs, as soon as they complete one well are contracted for to move on to other sites in the area. Only well being drilled outside the immediate Buckhorn area is that on the William Fey farm, north of Mt. Sterling. It is expected that it will be completed before the week is out. Two wells nearest completion now are one located on the first offset west on the Davis farm and the first offset east on the Carpenter farm. http://files.usgwarchives.net/il/brown/newspapers/nooil1.txt
