Mrs. Friday arose about seven o’clock Sunday morning, apparently in her usual health and prepared breakfast. Shortly after eating breakfast she sat down and complained of not feeling well. She went and lay down and a doctor was sent for, but she grew violently worse and died before he arrived. The undertaker was notified and the body embalmed and prepared for burial, the physician assuring him that he would make out the proper death certificate. Later Coroner McGann took notice of the case and while he had no suspicion of anything but natural death, he considered it his duty according to the requirement of the law, to hold an inquest, which was done Monday evening. The jurors were, J. V. Logan, foreman, Aaron Stinson, Henry Flynn, George Kunkle, H. L. Fristoe and Peter Thornton and the verdict was that Mrs. Friday came to her death from natural causes, which causes are unknown to the jury. Mrs. Friday was born in Germany. She was the mother of William Friday, Charles Friday and Mrs. Wendall Ashbaker, of this city. The funeral service was held in St. Joseph’s Catholic church, of this city at nine o’clock Tuesday morning.
