Mrs. Catherine McDannald, died suddenly at her home in the east portion of the city about the noon hour Monday. Mrs. McDannold had been in her usual health up to within a few hours of her death. On Saturday she had attended the democratic primary at the court house, and on Sunday was about her housework as usual. When she arose Monday morning she complained of a pain in the back of her head, and Dr. Wester was called. He gave her treatment, and she told those about her that she felt better. Two or three hours later she was taken violently ill, and Dr. Wester was again called to her bedside. Death came within a few moments, the physician stating that it was due to acute heart disease. The deceased was born in Schuyler county on July 29, 1867, and was therefore 69 years of age at the time of her death. In early life she came to Brown county to make her home, and for a long term of years had been a resident of Mt. Sterling. Her first marriage was to John Factor, who preceded her in death. Thirty-two years ago she was united in marriage to George McDannald, The marriage taking place on Christmas day, 1902. She is survived by this husband, also four children by her former marriage, viz: Mrs Charles Perry, of Quincy; Mrs. William Shaffer of Hollywood, Calif.; Lawrence and Charles Factor of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Perry White of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Emma Howard, of this city, also survive, as well as a step-daughter, Mrs Rena Lantz, who has for many years made her home with the deceased, and who considered her as a real mother; many more distant relatives and many friends.
