Rosa Ann, daughter of John and Margaret Geise, was born near Buckhorn on August 31, 1858, and was 58 years, 6 months and 18 days of age at the time of her death, which occurred at her home in this city last Monday. She grew to womanhood in the Buckhorn county, and on February 8, 1878, she was united in marriage to John Miller. To their union eleven children were born, four of whom preceded her to the better land. Her husband died September 12, 1909. The surviving children are: Mrs. Maggie Briggs, Mrs. James Neece, Joe Miller, Leo Miller, Lawrence Miller, Florence Miller, Bernard Miller, all of whom are residents of Mt. Sterling, the two latter living at home with their mother at the time of her death. Deceased is also survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Margaret Geise, now 78 years of age, three grandchildren, and four sisters and one brother, viz: Mrs. Ida Lache, Quincy; Mrs. Joseph Henricks and Mrs. William Spires, of near this city; and Miss Flora and William Geise, who make their home with their mother near Buckhorn. Mrs. Miller was a true Christian, a kind and loving mother and a friend to all who knew her. Her passing is mourned by many. We have lost our darling mother, She has bid us all adieu; She has gone to live in heaven, And her person is lost to view. Oh, that dear one, how we loved her! Oh how hard to give her up! But an angel came down for her And removed her from our flock. Heaven retaineth now our treasure, Earth the lonely casket keeps; And the subeams love to linger, Where our sainted mother sleeps.
