Mrs. Miller was born in Baden, Germany in December 1830 and came to this country when about 16 years of age, settling in the eastern part. She was married to Stephen Miller in Pittsburg, Pa., when about 18 years old. They afterwards came to Illinois and settled on a farm near this city, removing to town a number of years later. To this union were born nine children, seven of whom are living. They are: Mrs. John Maher, of Peoria, Mrs. Perry White and Mrs. Gus Hess, of Jacksonville, Mrs. George McDaniel, Mrs. John Howard and John and Frank Miller, all of this city. Besides her children deceased leaves four sisters: - Mrs. Andrew Kunkel and Mrs. Simon Friday of this city, Mrs. Wm. Algier, Kansas City, Mrs. Jacob Meyers, Fort Smith, Arkansas. The funeral took place Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock from St. Joseph’s church, conducted by Rev. B. Hasse and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery.
