James Neece for many years a popular blacksmith of this city, died at the family home in the northeast portion of the city about 6:30 o’clock this (Friday) morning. The deceased was about 69 years of age and had been ill for several weeks. He is survived by his wife and the following children; Edith, Ruth, Paul, Francis, Louise, Gerald Cletis and Vernon. Mr. Neece was not only a mechanic but he was much interested in the violin, and he personally manufactured dozens of these musical instruments, many of which he retained until his death. While complete arrangements for the funeral had not been made at our time of going to press. Undertaker Herbster, who has charge of the body, stated that the funeral would likely occur from St. Mary Catholic church at nine o’clock Monday morning, and burial will follow in the Catholic cemetery.
