Lundborg The second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lundborg, Lillian Rose, was born in Buda, Illinois, June 27, 1894 and passed away in the home where her whole life was spent March 23, 1910, aged 15 years, 8 months, and 26 days. Death was caused by scarlet fever but so sudden was her passing it had almost the shock of a death from accident. Her short life was a happy one. Her smile made sunshine for all. If strangers felt the charm of her joyous sunny temperment, how much more so the members of her own family on whom she lavished the wealth of affection from a loving heart. In her school life she had gone through lessons and grades until she was about to complete the second year in the High School. Trained since childhood in the Methodist Sunday School, many lessons from the Book of Life had been impressed on her young mind to lead toward the pure, the good, and the true. She was in her happy teens; the time when youth stands waiting before the half- open door that seems to lead into a fairer and more promising land. As she would have entered, a messenger said, "Come this way. It is best." And she has gone to the city of many mansions. The sadness is for those left lonely and bereaved. In this sorrow it is a consolation that in such a fair place in life "God has crystallized the vision into permanence" and a beautiful memory of the loved one will be forever cherished. "When death strikes down the innocent and young, for every form from which He lets the panting spirit free, a hundred virtues rise in shapes of mercy, charity, and love, to walk the world and bless it. Of every tear that is shed on such green graves, some good is born, some gentler nature comes." Lillian is survived by her parents, three sisters, and one brother her death being the first break in the home circle. For the bereaved family the expressions of sympathy were many and heartfelt. In her death they are separated from a sweet, loving daughter and sister, a noble and true-hearted girl and many friends pay sincere tribute to her memory. She was laid to rest in Hopeland Cemetery.
