S. A. Mackrill to John H. Jones filed 19th Sept. 1870 This Deed of Bargin and Sale, Made and executed this 8th day of September A D 1870 by and between S. A. Mackrill, of the county of Muscatine State of Iowa of the first part, and, John H. Jones, of the Second part. Witnesseth; That the Said party of the first part, for and in Consideration, of the Sum of Three Hundred 00/100 Dollars in hand paid by the Said party of the Second part, the receipt where of is hereby Acknowledged, hath, granted, and Sold, and doth by these presents Grant Bargain Sell, Convey And Confirm into the said Second part his heirs and assigns, forever the following Real estate Lying, and being Situated in the county of Calhoun and State of Illinois to Wit The undivided, one Fifth 1/5 interest in the North West quarter of the S. West quarter of Section No Twenty Two (22) Township No Thirteen (13) range No Two(2) West - Also The undivided One fifth (1/5) interest in the Ten (10) Acres off the West Side of the North East quarter of South West Quarter - Also, The undivided One fifth (1/5) interest in Ten (10) acres Situated in the North West, Corner of the South West quarter - Also in Section No Twenty Two (22) Township No. Thirteen (13) range No. Two (2) West in Calhoun County State of Illinois, Containing Sixty (60) acres. The Intention being to convey An Absolute Title in Fee To Said Real estate, including any right of Homestead had therein. To Have And To Hold The premises above described will all the appurtenances, thereto belonging unto the Said Second party his heirs and assigns, forever. The said S. A. Mackrill, hereby covenanting for his heirs executors and administrators, that the above described premises are Free From Any Incumbrance, as far as I and concerned That they have full right, power and authority to Sell the same, and the will Warrant And Defend The Title unto the Said, Second party his heirs and assigns, against the claims of all persons lawfully claiming, the Same. Mackrill, to me personally, Known to be the identical person whose mane is subscribed to the foregoing deed, as grantor, and acknowledged the instrument to be his voluntary act and deed, and that he executed the same for the purposes therein mentioned.
