Mary Snider Died Friday At Age 85

Mrs. Mary F. Snider was born September 4, 1858 in 
Brooklyn, Indiana, the daughter of Silas and Martha 
Eli Hiatt and passed away October 29, 1943, at 
Kampsville, attaining the age of 85 years, 1 month and 
25 days.

She had been a resident of Calhoun county 64 years.  She
was united in marriage to John A. Snider on May 7, 1880 
in Hardin by the late Stephen McDonald.  Mr. Snider 
died in 1939.

She was the mother of ten children, four of who survive,
Mrs. Wylis Arnett, Carlinville; Allen D. Snider, Hardin;
Ernest A. Snider, Alton; Mrs. Laura Sheff, Los Angeles, 
California; one sister, Mrs. Laura White, Thorp, 
Washington; 21 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and 
many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Pentecostal 
church in Hardin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Frank Cook 
officiating.  Interment was in Hardin cemetery under 
direction of C.C. Hanks Funeral Service.
