RED 1808-1872, CALHOUN COUNTY, ILLINOIS In the name of the holy Trinty Amen. I John Red of the Town of Hardin in the County of Calhoun and the State of Illinois, of the age of Sixty-four years and being of sound mind an memory, do hereby make and declare this my last - Will an Testament in manner and forever following to wit: First - It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid. Second - It is my will further that the tax titles which I owe in any lands or Town lots be sold by my executor, at private sale for the best price there can be realized for the same, and therefore give hereby my executors power to sell and convey the same at any time, and my Estate shall not be closed before said lands aew so sold. Third - I give and bequeath my lot and houses in the town of Hardin being lot - No.4 Block No.2 is said town to my two sons John Red and Franics H. Red, for them to with what they see proper, but in third of the value they sahll pay to my daughter Julia Red. Fourth - It is my will that all my that all my moneys and credits, real estate not herein to --- need and the proceeds of the Tax titles be equally divided between my sons John Red, Francis H Red, my daughter Julia Red and the children of my deceased Daughter Maria Gray except as here in after expenses. Fifth - It is my Will that the Father of the children, William M. Gray Jr. shall not have the money in his hands, but that the County Court of Calhoun County, shall appoint a Guardian for the children of my daughter, Maria Gray deceased, who shall loan the money paid to him by my executor for said children, and only the Intrest shall be used for the schooling and education, and the principal and intresst - shall be paid to them, when they become at the age of twenty one years. Sixth - Out of my money and credits, there sahll be paid to the St. Mary.s Church in Brussels twenty-five dollars, to the St. Michael's Church fifty dollars and of there is a Church built in Hardin the sum of One Hundred dollars. Seventh - It is my will that out of the first moneys coming to the hands of my executors, fifty dollars be paid to the catholic Priest for Funeral expenses. Eighth- It is my will that out of moneys and credits - two hundred dollars be paid to Elizabeth Bourland for waiting upon me. The last named moneys to be fair to the Churches the Priest and Elizabeth Bourland and shall be taken out before the same is divided between my heirs afore names, and the balance shall be divided in four parts and paid. Ninth & Lastly - I hereby appoint my son Francis H. Red and my friend John F. Nolte, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former will by me made and satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will & Testament.
